The Johannesburg Central police Station is calling for members of the community who are keen to help fight crime, to join them as informers. Warrant Officer Xoli Mbele says accepted applicants will undergo training and be incentivised.

President Jacob Zuma has assigned various Ministers to urgently assist families of miners who are still trapped at Lily Farm in Barberton. Minister of Mineral Resources, Mr Mosebenzi Zwane, the Minister in the Presidency responsible for Women,Susan Shabangu and the Minister of Social Development, Bathabile Dlamini are expected to put their heads together and provide support to the affected families. Lily Mine rescue efforts for three trapped miners have been suspended following another collapse at the mine on yesterday afternoon. Additional Mine engineers have arrived at the Lily gold mine between Louws Creek and Barberton to conduct assessments at the mine. The miners were trapped when a container serving as a lamp room collapsed into a large sinkhole at the mine shaft a week ago. Vusi Twala reports

A church in Ngcobo in the Eastern Cape has raised eyebrows after allegations that it has violated children's rights surfaced. Community members have called for law enforcement agencies to intervene. It is believed that more than 20 children at the church are not allowed to go to school while parents who are members of the church are forced to resign from work. Nkululeko Nyembezi reports

There's now hope that the trapped miners in Lily Mine in Barberton, Mpumalanga will soon be found. A tyre that was close to the container that kept the miners has been discovered by the rescue team members.
