Wits University management has described as unreasonable the students' demand for the university to be closed until Monday. The demand was made when vice chancellor Adam Habib came out to engage the protesting workers and students in the scotching heat at the main campus in Braamfontein, Johannesburg yesterday afternoon. The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal has denied that there's a crisis in its branches following yet another postponement of the long-awaited eThekwini regional elective conference. The Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Rights of Communities (CRL Rights Commission) says they are investigating the commercialisation of religion by Pastors. The Commission has issued a summons to several pastors to appear before it. This follows a complaint by the South African Council of Churches (SACC) against Pastor Lesego Daniels of Raboni Ministries and Pastor Penuel Mnguni who recently made members of their congregations eat grass and snakes.
