SABC News is in possession of documents showing that the three women who accused former tennis champion Bob Hewitt of rape and sexual assault may have colluded prior to his trial. In March this year, the Australian-born Hewitt was found guilty of two counts of rape and one of sexual assault. The 75-year-old was convicted of raping Theresa Tolken and Suellen Sheehan in the 1980s and of sexually assaulting a third woman in the 1990s. The crimes were committed when he was their tennis coach. Hewitt was sentenced in the High Court in Pretoria to an effective six years in jail. He is currently under house arrest on his farm in the Eastern Cape while awaiting his appeal. Jamaine Krige reports.
