Your triggers and emotional reactions are reminders of what still needs to be healed. - UNKNOWN

Have you ever had something so small or petty happen to you, and your reaction was so much bigger than the act? Or have you ever heard one of the elderly people say, "they must have hit a nerve"? If so, you may have reacted to an emotional trigger.

A trigger does not always include what people say. It can be a sound, a smell, or the sight of something that takes our mind back to that experience in time. When I got pregnant when I was a teenager, my dad expressed how disappointed he was in me. It was shattering to me, so every time I hear that would, especially if it's used towards me, I shut down.

Sometimes what needs to be healed is buried so deep inside that it's hard to identify the things that hurt us. However, because that hurt reminds the trauma, I encourage you to explore that hurt. Through us uncovering the hurt and pain, we can heal from our triggers and emotional reactions.

Is your protecting, controlling?

Because of the COVID virus, I have supported my 3rd grader with digital learning since March 2020, and it's hard! Before this, I worked full-time outside of the home, and my children attended school in a traditional school setting.

As a mom, we get so busy with the daily tasks that can consume and overwhelm us as moms. However, are we neglecting our children in our busyness?

I recall when my children were babies, and sometimes when I see a baby or toddler, I wish my kids were that age again. I have a book of milestones for each of my children

The joys of being a mom are endless, as we have seen our babies grow to be more and more independent each day. Watching them come into their own, building their skills, and seeing their personalities blossom were some of the most beautiful memories of my then-littles.

Are we double-talkers as a society? We often hear people commenting on how someone should have gotten help if they needed it. However, people negatively comment when people say they need help or do not all.
