Urban Waves has the pleasure to present "Special Blend" by Max I Million featuring John Culbreth. Lately Max is a lot into composing and making Jazz music. Which eventually brought him to get in touch with John Culbreth, a trumpet player based in New Orleans and part of the band Naughty Professor. Blurring the lines between genres they wrote this tune together which is a perfect hybrid between jazz & hip hop. With the live trumpet recorded by John the song is truly a Special Blend. From Stockholm to New Orleans the song is universal and will make you dream and escape from the daily routine.

“Fluttr” is a magical portal to a relaxing and feel-good state of mind. Plucked guitar and harp set the harmonic bed on which nonchalant wind instruments briefly take their rest. Accompanied by a gentle yet punchy drum kit, other sonic guests such as strings and synth pads make brief appearances to round out this chilled soundscape. Invention_ hopes the music relaxes the listener and sets them at ease in the same way it did to him while he humbly crafted this mellow track. The birdsong will leave you longing for the early days of Spring to come.

Today we bring you an heartwarming tune by dutch producer Haines.

“Newborn” is the first song Haines created after arriving back in the Netherlands from Australia. After 2.5 long years of waiting due to border restrictions, he and his family were finally able to reunite. This track was created the morning after his sister in law gave birth to a beautiful daughter, which is where the track name comes from. Haines was inspired by this beautiful experience, and did his best to channel this newfound gratitude, calmness & peace into the music.

“555” represents what it means to collaborate with people who might speak a different language than you, and is a testament to the power of music as a method of communication. It is also a middle ground for 3 producers that have very different styles and music backgrounds. Ending up into a superb track combining the worlds of each artist involved.

“Way Back” is a new jazzy track by Odyssee and Louk from Soul Food Horns. The duo sent stems and loops back and forth, beginning with drums and chill guitar riffs, then building with layers of horns, flutes and saxophones. At the end, the track is a story told via instruments communicating with one another. While listening, imagine a nice afternoon after work, just taking your time to appreciate the scenery on your way back home. Take the time to escape from the routine and appreciate the simple things. “Offworld” is the new EP from Portland-based DJ, producer, radio host and beat scene Guru Saltfeend. The project was created over an extended period of time, and the resulting music (created in various studio experiences all very different from one another) reflects that. For instance, Deer Creek was produced after a camping experience deep in the Washington State woods. After a night hike where he witnessed the majestic forest illuminated by the full moon light, he channeled the magical experience into his music. Further into the EP, “Full Tano” was named after a beachside retreat where he took all his studio equipment to a rented flat by the sea to make beats with a friend over a weekend. The track was the polished result of the experience, and was named after the pizza delivery that fueled the weekend. Each song on the EP was created in a different context, making the experience of the EP bold, otherworldly, and adventurous.
