Urbane Legends episodes

  • Smiledog
Hey do you like the internet? You're right, it IS a mixed bad. This week we look at one of the aforementioned 'internet's most famous urban legends, or as 'on-liners' call it 'creepypasta' the tale of Smiledog.jpg. A fairly patient malevolent mind trespassing demonic dog who is desperately trying to go viral by any means possible, which as the co-creator of a small podcast I can understand. Difference is we rarely use threats and night terrors to get people to share the podcast, we, like anyone worth their salt, use a combination of begging and coercion. We also put our boots in to the bloody Brits, now that we are primarily an American and Indian podcast. Shameless

  • Bukit Timah Monkey Man
This week we head to the other side of our increasingly connected world to perform a through investigation on the Bukit Timah Monkey Man. There have been several sightings, he may come from folklore (unverified) and there are a few pictures of this lad, one where he looks like he has been littering like a disaffected teenager who has been let down by the system and slipped through the cracks. But has the Monkey Man been let down by the system? The answer is yes. He's no different to 99% of us, and considering that he is a world was two veteran, this is a slamming indictment of the state of the world in the death throws of les a fair capitalism

  • Moonshaft
Morning, how did you sleep? Oh that's a shame, it might be time to go and see a doctor, anyway I recorded this podcast with Neil....yes that Neil, for you to listen to. Its about a mysterious cave in central Europe called the Moonshaft. What do you mean it sounds dull? It has Nazis, bat eating, naked greased up pot holing, geology, death and love. In many ways this story encapsulates the entire human experience.....no, YOU used over florid language to trick people. Look listen or dont, I'll make us coffee...yes in the cafetiere

  • BackMasking
And we are back! When will we take the hint? Never! Yes back with series 6 and episode 1 is a look at the well known urban legend of Backmasking. Did notorious Satanists the Beatles use backmasking to get people into smoking pot? Has backmasking been used to subliminally control music fans minds for years? Well to be fair, i dont mind Ed Sheeran but 14 number ones? It is a bit fishy. We also talk for the first time since before xmas so expect out of practice rambling a plenty.

  • War on Christmas
Is there a war on Christmas? You will be unsurprised to hear, no there isn't, not even a hint of one. So why do people say it? To make people angry at other people to distract from the people they should be angry with of course. We have a look at the 'evidence' sited for this non-war. Its even worse than you thought.
