She brings children gifts on the Epiphany and unlike the central European characters, dosn't have a bad side. Probably pre-Christian and tacked on to Christmas, she may have known the 3 kings/wise men/Magi, she may or may not have met baby Jesus, she may or may not have been looking to kidnap him. We will leave it to the listener to decide.
