World leaders are convening in Germany today for the annual Munich Security Conference, at a time when there are tensions in the alliance between Europe and the US.

It's a year since US Vice President JD Vance used his address to the conference to criticise EU leaders for failing to control migration and suppressing free speech.

Europe has since faced new tariffs, US threats to takeover Greenland and President Donald Trump's unpredictable approach towards Ukraine.
