The U.S. State Department has paused the issuance of immigrant visas for nationals of 75 countries at consulates worldwide. While applications and interviews will continue, visas will not be issued during the pause, including for already approved cases. The move disproportionately affects Black and brown nations and is tied to a broader administrative review.
