UPDATE ON HOMICIDE VICTIM FOUND IN YAMHILL COUNTY (PHOTO)

The Yamhill County Sheriff's Office and the Yamhill County Major Crime Team (MCRT), with the assistance of the Oregon State Police Forensic Crime Lab, have positively identified the female body found near Lafayette, on Sunday, October 2, 2016. The victim is Lilia Cosco-Ortiz (DOB 111378), of Vancouver, WA. She was positively identified late yesterday (Monday, October 3), however this information was withheld by authorities until family members were advised. 

Ms. Cosco-Ortiz was last seen leaving her Vancouver home, late Saturday, October 1, 2016. Family members believed that she was headed for the Oregon coast and she was expected back on during the night of October 1-2. She was reported missing to the Vancouver Police Department on October 2, 2016. 

The Yamhill County MCRT is asking for the public's assistance in locating a person of interest. He is Victor Melcher Villalba (aka: Victor Bello Rojas) (DOB: 011479), picture attached. He was last seen driving a white, 2003 Toyota Tacoma pickup, bearing Oregon plate 184 HLR. The pickup is an extended cab pickup, with some body damage to the right side of the tailgate. Anyone with information about his whereabouts, or the whereabouts of the vehicle, is asked to call "911".

SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVESTIGING FEMALE BODY FOUND IN FIELD

A death investigation is underway after a female body was found in an agriculture field near the City of Lafayette. 

At approximately 1314 hours, the body was found by a few citizens who were driving through the area. Once they realized what it was they contacted authorities. 

The Yamhill County Sheriff's Office and the Dayton Fire Department arrived on scene around 1320 hours. A short time later, the Oregon State Police Forensics Division was called upon to help process the scene. The persons identity has not yet been determined; however it does not appear to be connected to any recent missing persons from the area. No other specific details are being released at this time. More information will follow when available. 

We are seeking assistance from anyone who may have information in regards to this incident or have seen anything suspicious involving a female in the area of Hwy 99W near the City of Lafayette. LAFAYETTE, OR, The family and friends of JESSICA JANE FORD JUNG who went missing on September 8th will be launching a volunteer-based search on Saturday, October 1st  to help find her and bring her home. The family is working with the Destiny Search Project which provides assistance in organizing missing person searches. The family asks that volunteers come prepared for the cooler weather with possible showers, walking, and possibility of being in fields and other terrains. Volunteers will need to bring valid identification in order to search. Check-in will begin at 11:00 am and will run until 2:00 pm. You should expect to search for at least an hour and will be welcomed to go out on multiple searches.
