    A Short Story “Doctor Goldsmith” -- Medicine for a Sick Man


    This clever short story is retold by James Baldwin over 100 years ago. The title is the name of the main character, who is very kind. He is a doctor and gives medicine to people who are sick. Listen to episode 3 to find out what MEDICINE he will give to a sick man.

    • There are 5 vocabulary words with definitions before the story.
      1. delightful — nice to read, enjoyable
      2. medicine — something you eat to help you feel better
      3. faithfully — always or regularly, doing something well, being good
      4. directions — words telling you how to do something
      5. had given — a type of past tense from “give”

          2. Second time: Normal speed
