It's the 3rd of Advent. The Sunday of Joy!

And here we are in Luke chapter 3. Right in the middle of a harangue...

And to think:

We are so taken with the image of Jesus' compassion. After all, that is what we want to hear in this “no-fault” society we live in.. But make no mistake: Everyone, everyone has to make a personal decision of whether or not to trust Christ! Everyone and I really mean everyone will at some point stand before God the Father for an accounting...

It's the second Advent already. I'm constantly amazed at how fast time flies. Next thing you know and it's Christmas. I pray that today's message helps get us on the track.

A Message - Luke 3:1-6 Today we lit the peace candle. I hope you might remember this: that the peace we talk about is not necessarily peace here on earth, of course it’s what we hope for… but it’s the peace that we have within ourselves, the peace that can only come from knowing our Lord, the peace that passes all understanding, the peace we can feel because we have Jesus, we belong to Him!

Your Hope is near! - Luke 21:25-37

What will set us journeying in search of the Christ this Advent? How far are we prepared to go out of our way to look for the signs of His coming and to prepare a path?

How will we travel through this season, loaded with others’ expectations, overwhelmed by their needs? Will we be full of joy or weary of grief?

What will guide our steps in these weeks? Will we follow a thread of longing, the hint of an alternative pathway? Sisters and brothers in Christ, Advent awaits us! Let us place our feet on the road and begin the journey.

Today I've got a story and a Scripture collage as part of today's message for you.

The book of Revelation unveils Christ’s full identity and God’s plan for the end of the world, and it focuses on Jesus Christ, His second coming. His victory over evil, and the establishment of his Kingdom. So, let us be confident that Christ Jesus the King will transform us and be our king… the king of our lives and homes forever more...

Today's message is called: A Body Offered In Obedience

and I'm looking at: Hebrews 10: 1,12-14, 19-25

Moving from arguments to instruction, the author of Hebrews shares many examples of those who have demonstrated faith throughout history and he let's us realize that living by faith is far better than merely fulfilling rituals and rules.

Today we're looking at the story of Lazarus. Where Jesus raised him from the dead. For anybody who is wrapped in the shroud of the world, you have the Invisible assurance that God wants you. He wants to set you free. Through Jesus God calls your close friends, family, maybe a pastor, social workers, or caring professionals, who are willing to listen and help… help you to “Unbind the hands; unbind the feet; unwrap the face.”

He Opened the Way into the Presence of God!

Hebrews 9:1, 10-14

The place of worship for many today will be a new place, a virtual place... But, for many others, it remains a place rooted in the center of a community, hemmed in by its neighbors, bearing witness to the vitality of town centers and city streets that once were vital centers of urban life. In some cases it's indistinguishable from homes... or tents.
