Repentance, The Turning Point! - Philippians 3:17 - 4:1

In everyone’s life there is a turning point. A crucial moment that defines our existence.

If you have lived that experience… Do you remember when and where this happened? Did you kind of retreat into a secluded place and reflect on your own life and ask questions?

Lent - it’s not about giving up chocolates for 40 days, but rather, its about realizing that we are called to take time to examine ourselves in preparation for the celebration of the resurrection of the Lord at Easter.

Before Exodus 34, when I look at Exodus 32, it reminds me a bit of our current: “instant gratification” culture. When the people had to wait, and not all THAT long, coupled with uncertainty, (after all they didn’t know what had happened to Moses on the mountain). Well, what would we do? We’d likely lose patience and go our own way most times, right? Well, the Israelites lost patience and they committed their infamous folly of making a golden calf. Moses smashes the tablets God had given him, and then did a repeat on the mountain, then he came down again and... shone.

Like a tree’s roots reaching living water - Jeremiah 17:5-10

Over the last few messages, I’ve talked about reconciliation three different ways

First with God, second with others, third with ourselves and now it’s not only reconciliation with God, reconciliation with people, reconciliation with yourself, that I’m talking about, now comes the thought, that we might need reconciliation with God's creation, the land, the earth.

God offers his friendship freely to all, … but incredible as it is… many people reject God’s friendship because they think it means "religion"… “Religion” is man-made, I’m not talking about that… I’m talking about having a relationship with God… which is simple… just as any friendship should be.
