Louis Slama joined the Air Force in 1943 and volunteered to be a paratrooper. He jumped behind enemy lines in Holland and fought in Operation Market Garden. He served on the front lines during the Battle of the Bulge and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Part of a lecture series held at the Salt Lake City Public Library. Orson was the skipper of a mine sweeper in the South Pacific and participated in the battle of Leyte Gulf. Charles Edwards served in World War II in the Philippines. He is known as someone who is always doing something for someone else. Charles and his wife have adopted many children.

Watt Misaka served in World War II during the occupation of Japan. He has two children and three grandchildren and has been a citizen of Utah all of his life.

Swithin Chandler served as a doctor in Europe in a moble hospital. The Remember WWII lectures series is a compilation of lectures given to the public at the Salt Lake City Library.

Mont Mahoney served in Patton's third army during World War II with the 276th Armored Field Artillery Battalion. He is the recipient of the Purple Heart as well as many other awards. He was born in Brigham City, Utah and then graduated from East High School and then from the University of Utah. Mont is a true humanitarian and has served with the boy scouts. In this lecture Mont shares with us his experiences of being in World War II.
