Brandon & Jonathan kick off the year reflecting on the past year and the political climate leading up to inauguration. They were joined by Mr. Forman, a US Army Veteran, who dove into his experiences after his tour in the Army. He spoke on the struggles a homeless veteran endures while dealing with the established processes in place. And how faith, hope and perseverance got him the ‘hand-up’ he needed to get out of the system.
Brandon & Jonathan kick off the show with call to action – check in on your loved ones – this time of the year is hard on everyone especially with COVID curfews and shutdowns. “Recon” Collins joins the rant and shares his experience of IED explosion that killed everyone in the vehicle but left him as an amputee. 39 surgeries in 15 years, survivors guilt, and the importance of family support that carried him through it all.
Brandon & Jonathan rant about how the COVID lockdowns have increased the depression and suicide rates all across the country.
Brian Tally joins the show to talk about his own experience with the VA hospital and its method to treat the problem with a band aid and cover up its the tracks. While there are good doctors at the VA, a majority of veterans feel like doctors don’t take time to listen to the actual concerns of the veteran. Clinicians, at times, don’t have the time to properly diagnose and treat the veterans for the actual complaints. Brian almost lost his life to medical malpractice by a VA doctor in 2015. He is now working with Congress to pass the #TallyBill “The Brian Tally VA Transparency and Employment Act”. For more details about H.R.4526 and S.B.4883, check out www.tallyteam.net.
Pre-Thanksgiving episode where Jonathan takes on the rant by himself. He reflects on how holidays are spent during deployments, and how the current political climate adds to the burden some veterans carry this season. As America prepares for Thanksgiving and Christmas, Jonathan highlights a few stories of homeless veterans that were served by ODV. He also encouraged all listeners to take a moment to engage with the folks on the street – buy them a meal or tell them about ODV.
In this very special episode, the Ranters dive deep into thoughts and emotions invoked by Veterans’ Day and Memorial Day. We speak with US Army veteran Josh for his perspective on life as a veteran in today’s society. The guys don’t waste a moment in having some celebratory fun partaking in the 245th birthday of the US Marine Corps.
