Roger Valci, Cities…God's Ultimate Aim, WHY CITIES MATTER, Genesis 11-12, On the occasion of the official opening of our new Sanctuary, Pastor Roger paused to reflect on the process of building the church and on the important connection between that work and the need for us to be committed to the city. In recounting the long story of the building coming into reality, Roger noted that every time we raised our commitment to the city, the funds for the building started flowing. Turning to scripture, he closed by helping us to see that God calls us to identify with the City, to serve the City and to pray for the City that He loves.

Roger Valci, Cities…God's Ultimate Aim, 2 Samuel 11, This morning we were blessed to hear a message from Isaiah Saldivar, a young preacher and prophet who travels the country sharing God's word. He used the story of David and Bathsheba to help us see the importance of developing a private relationship with God and maintaining it in the face of all frustrations. David fell into sin because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time - he was outside of his relationship with the Lord. The encouragement from the story comes from the fact that after falling into such horrible sin, God was not done with David. The Bible teaches that there is forgiveness from sin and the righteous man falls but gets back up.

Roger Valci, Cities…God's Ultimate Aim, The Father's House, 1 Corinthians 4:15,In anticipation of next week's opening of The Father's House - a Valley Christian church plant in East Dublin - Pastor Ramez Bahu took to the altar this morning to share the word and his heart. Citing the Biblical rationale for the name of the Church, Pastor Ramez shared the significance in church and in culture for both physical and spiritual fathers. He shared that the world has many teachers but not enough fathers, for fathers are the ones who can set a pattern for us to follow and release us into our destiny.

Roger Valci, Cities…God's Ultimate Aim, I Quit, Acts 13, We serve a God who invites us to take a risk and step into an adventure. As believers, sometimes that challenge involves relinquishing comfort so others may find comfort in His arms. This is hard, and, as Pastor Roger showed us, some quit because they can't face the challenge. They don't necessarily leave the faith, but they no longer accept the adventures. In this message we are challenged to look at the story of John Mark in Acts and allow it to inspire us to maintain our promise of heaven without abandoning God's call on Earth.

Roger Valci, Cities…God's Ultimate Aim, "Listen-Wait-Watch", Today Dave Johnson, our Chief Operations Officer shares a message close to his heart. Pastor Roger asked Dave to take the position of interim Superintendent of our schools. So today Dave shares with us how he approached this assignment. First, Dave had to slow down and Listen for God to speak into this new direction which he wanted Dave to take with the schools. Then Dave had to wait and let God go ahead of him and prepare the way. Some of the most beautiful things come out of times of waiting. Then lastly, God told Dave to just watch with Him and see what happens next, as God delivered the blessings to our schools.

Roger Valci, Cities…God's Ultimate Aim, The Different Dilemma, Acts 13: 1-3, In this message, Pastor Roger focusses on the significance of Acts 13:2 in which God asks the Church at Antioch to separate out Paul and Barnabas. In this request God asks that Paul and Barnabas be separated out to God and be separated out to serve cities. Pastor Roger sees this as the climax of the Book of Acts because after this everything that happens is focussed on serving cities. In suggesting that this is the real work of believers, he challenges us to consider whether we are just working for a path to Heaven or whether we are also answering God's call on Earth.

Roger Valci, Cities…God's Ultimate Aim, It Begins!, Psalm 84 1-12, Today Pastor Roger focuses on God's dwellng place. In crisis people look for a place where they can feel closer to God. Psalm 84 shows passion, sentiment, and hunger for being in the house of God. Our soul wants us to frequent the house of God, and the more we frequent it the more it will shape our lives. The more you know the Lord the more you want to be near Him, which means, by frequenting the house of God more, your passion for God will surely increase.
