Did you realize that the book of Proverbs is a record of a father's teachings to his son? Solomon is known to be one of the wisest men in history. His father, David, taught him many things, and Solomon recorded those, by direction of the Holy Spirit, for us in the book of Proverbs.

In those teachings we can see a glimpse of the heart of David. But when we dig into David's life, we see a man who had courage, and compassion, but he lacked control over his life. And yet, he still trusted God with his heart.

What does your heart look like today?

The book of Job poses a heart-searching question; who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered? Many men have hardened himself against God over the years, but none of them have ultimately prospered.

But what could cause a man to harden himself against the Lord like that? We can be persuaded by so much around us, both for good and for bad. Tonight Bro. Jeff showed us that this verse talks about a man who is persuaded by a lot of things; the Devil, the flesh, and so many people around us.

Are you resisting God tonight? Are you being persuaded by the wrong things? Search your heart and be honest with yourself...

The mind is one of Satan's favorite places to attack us. If he can get into our mind, he can corrupt the eyes, the ears, the mouth, even the heart. And if we leave our mind unguarded and unprotected, we are just opening ourselves up for him to attack us.

Tonight Bro. Jeff takes a look at he aspects of The Battleground of the Mind. There's an outward battle, an inward battle, and an upward battle. Once you understand the fonts of the battle, you can establish your defense!

In the book of Matthew, the Lord tells us the story of ten bridesmaids who were waiting for the bridegroom to come in hopes of being part of the wedding banquet. Five of them were called wise, but five were foolish.

At midnight, there came a cry; the bridegroom had returned. Five of the bridesmaids were ready. They were the wise ones who still had oil for their lamps. Unfortunately, the other five were foolish and by the time they had purchased more oil it was too late, and they were left out of the banquet.

When Jesus returns to take His people to Heaven, we must be ready. Spiritual preparation cannot be bought or borrowed at the last minute. Our relationship with God must be our own.

Tonight we were able to hear from many of our church Youth who attended Indian Creek Youth Camp last week. It's a blessing in today's world to hear how God has worked in these teens' lives! Decisions were made and lives were changed! We pray these testimonies are a blessing to you!

This morning we heard from our Pastor Candidate, Bro. Jeff Waldrop, as he showed us that Canaan Land is Just in Sight.

Our church stands on the threshold of a new day, new horizons, just as the people of Israel stood looking into Canaan Land many years ago.

There are always tough days, but there is also a promise from God. Are you looking over the promised land this morning? Do you need a new day of promise and hope?
