Vegan Cheesecake

Rose is out of work in "Job Hunting" after the Grief Center closes in episode 22 of season 1 of The Golden Girls. Dave and Vicki discuss everything from Dorothy's slut-shaming Blanche to raw vegan food and they each reveal one of their most irrational fears.

Happy New Year! Ring in 2020 with a new episode of your favorite Golden Girls and vegan food themed podcast! This week Dave and Vicki discuss episode 18 of season one, The Operation. Also on the table are Ginsu knives, birthday cakes and Vicki makes a shocking revelation.

Blanche is dating a super rich man who is looking for a mother for his small children in "Second Motherhood" (season 1, episode 19) of The Golden Girls. Dave and Vicki marvel at the notion of motherhood at any time and also discuss some of their recent travels and the food they ate. Vicki ventured to Los Angeles and loved Stuff I Eat while Dave found himself and Florida and got to dine at Ethos Vegan Kitchen in Orlando.

Rose's new love interest is a bit of a surprise to the other ladies in "A Little Romance" (season 1, episode 13) and Dave & Vicki discuss some of their own embarrassing or questionable love interests. Dave finally made a vegan pumpkin French toast that he's been wanting for over a decade and all Vicki wants for Christmas is a nacho bar.

Dorothy and her visiting sister Gloria play tug of war over Sophia in "The Custody Battle" (episode 12 of season 1 of The Golden Girls) as Dave and Vicki reminisce about kitchen injuries, a mutual appreciation of LL Cool J. and white man afros (check our Instagram @vegancheesecakepod to see Vicki's top 3).

Blanche's troubled 14-year-old grandson tests everyone's nerves on episode 6 of season 1 of The Golden Girls called "On Golden Girls." Dave and Vicki wax nostalgic on their own parent's techniques for discipline, Rambo and go over what they did with their Thanksgiving leftovers.

Spoiler alert, Blanche's sister shows up and needs a kidney in the aptly titled Golden Girls episode "The Transplant." Dave and Vicki try to decide who they'd donate an organ to and it seems like that list is longer than the list of people for whom they'd babysit.

Dave and Vicki tackle episode 2 of season 1 of The Golden Girls, "Guess Who's Coming to the Wedding." Dorothy finally gets to confront her ex as we discuss some of our own bad break-ups, Thanksgiving dinner ideas and rutabagas. Plus, Dave finally makes an actual vegan cheesecake! P
