In October 2009, Bobby Jamison, his wife Sherilynn, and their six-year-old daughter Madyson drove into the Ouachita Mountains of Oklahoma to look at land where they hoped to build a new home.

They never returned.

Days later, their white pickup truck was discovered abandoned along a remote mountain road. Inside investigators found the family’s wallets, cell phones, identification… and $32,000 in cash left untouched.

Their dog, Maisy, was barely alive inside the vehicle.

But the Jamison family themselves were gone.

When investigators reviewed security footage from the Jamison home taken just before they left, they noticed something unsettling. Bobby and Sherilynn silently moved between their house and truck for nearly thirty minutes, barely speaking and behaving strangely.

Then, four years later, hunters discovered three sets of skeletal remains deep in the woods—just miles from where the truck had been found.

Even after the discovery, investigators were unable to determine how the family died.

What happened to the Jamison family in the Ouachita Mountains remains one of Oklahoma’s most haunting unsolved mysteries.

On February 14, 2000, nine-year-old Asha Degree left her home in Shelby, North Carolina during a storm in the early morning hours.

Multiple motorists reported seeing a small child walking alone along Highway 18 before dawn. When one driver turned around to check on her, she ran into nearby woods.

More than a year later, Asha’s backpack was discovered buried along the same highway — wrapped in plastic trash bags.

For decades, the case remained unresolved.

But in 2024 and 2025, newly executed search warrants and court documents revealed that investigators now believe Asha was killed and that her body was concealed. DNA evidence and properties connected to the Dedmon family in Cleveland County have brought renewed focus to the 24-year-old case.

No arrests have been made. No charges have been filed.

Asha Degree was nine years old.

In August 2013, nineteen-year-old Bryce Laspisa began driving home to his parents in Laguna Niguel, California.

He never arrived.
