This week we finally delve into India's controversial farm laws, with a focus on what these three bring to the table. 2020 and 2021 have seen mass protests at Delhi's border as farmers from Punjab and Haryana assembled in large numbers. Lakhs of farmers are currently occupying the border with the sole intention of having the laws repealed, while the central government is currently refusing to budge from its stance. The deadlock turned violent on Republic Day, but the situation has overall managed to remain peaceful. As both sides engage in talks, we provide our views as citizens on India’s farm laws (06:39).

India win a test series (59:05) and Biden took over the White House, 2021 appears to be starting on the right note (48:57). Oh, and we have vaccines. The Covishield and Covaxin doses are out and January 16 saw the first healthcare workers getting their shots. However, people are scared over reports of trials not being finished, especially for Covaxin. This raised the question, should we start giving celebrities or politicians the first dose so as to raise public morale? This leads to a vaccine based discussion where we talk about how the country should deal with the vaccine rollout (03:54).

This week we delve into the Nanavati case, which inevitably led to the abolition of the jury system in India. Commander Nanavati vs State of Maharashtra changed the way in which Indians viewed justice, and a precedent was set by the timely intervention of the Bombay High Court (02:56). As more media fueled cases are first tried in the court of public opinion, we wonder if the jury system should be brought back to the country (36:18). We also share our early impressions on WandaVision.  Disney and Marvel's have attempted  something so beautifully bizarre, that we may never actually see another episode again (59:18).

This week, we discuss the legendary Keshavananda Bharti Case and the cowardly attacks on the US Capital. First, we discuss the events, necessary judgments, and repercussions that led to the 1973 dispute with the State of Kerala. (05:41) Indians to this day reap the benefits of the doctrine of the basic structure of the Constitution. We then move on to the January 6 attack on the US Capital, which was among the most cowardly terrorist attacks of the last century. (48:23) The world is watching closely as the world's oldest democracy deals with an unprecedented turn of events, as America’s sovereignty is blatantly questioned.

This week we dig deep into our content bag, with two topics without much of a connection. First, we try picking the five items we’d choose to have on a deserted island, which quickly changes into a Pirates of the Caribbean fantasy (03:18). This is followed by deciding which products we have ethical problems while investing. Here the group realizes that most of these were far beyond our budget in the first place (25:39). All in all, the crew returns with an enchanting and meaningful hour of content.
