Happy New Year! This episode started off with a PS5 review as one of us finally got our hands on the elusive machine. We then moved on to talk about our New Year resolutions for 2021 and the high points in 2020 for us. The episode then ends with us making our sports predictions in NBA, Cricket and Football. On this episode we pick up right where we dropped off from the scams episode. This week we talked about The Commonwealth (7:30) & The Sahara company (35:34). Listen to this in-depth look of both of these scams it's a good one!

This weeks episode is all about scams. It's a similar format to our conspiracy episode, which we enjoyed making. The scams we focused on for part 1 of this episode are The FYRE Festival (11:46) and The Vyapam scam (1:04:22). We discussed each scam in detail including how they started, who was behind it, what happened after it etc. It's a funny yet interesting listen.

This week the episode started with some sombre news with the passing of Argentinian legend Diego Maradona, we remembered the legend by talking about his skill and his memorable moments. But the serious tone does not last long as we drift a little into the comical side of football (11:31). We then moved on to the first topic of the show, we talked about the places we would like to work, which actually turned out to be an entertaining and funny discussion (20:53). We then ended the show by discussing which sports each of us would play if we were professional athletes. All of us got very specific in this topic by choosing the moments of sports we would like to relive (44:42). All in all a lighter episode than the past ones.     

In part 2 of our unique and rather morbid series, we look into another two cases that left us baffled. Or showed up in someone else’s list online. Either way, the mystery of 1966, when sitting Indian Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri died under mysterious circumstances, is our first case today. Tashkent appears to be Kryptonite to our leaders, and we hypothesize on why no clarity exists on the issue after over 50 years (08:40). We then attempt and fail to have a serious discussion on the Illuminati, who have allegedly infiltrated the Indian cricket team at this point. Chaos ensues (46:40), followed by a brief mention of James Harden’s ridiculous trade request to the Nets. Clearly an unbiased conversation. Stay tuned and avoid taking any of this or us seriously (1:07:08).

In this special episode, we begin with a breakdown of one of the most legendary music rivalries of the early ’90s. We track hip hop legends Biggie and 2Pac, because while their untimely deaths still have so many unanswered questions, the events leading up to it have left many even more confused (06:04). Shifting to a mystery closer to home, the guys discuss the Noida murders of 2008 that shook the country, the untimely deaths of Arushi Talwar and Hemraj. It is astonishing that even after a decade, no clear answers on the events of 16 May still exist (42:37). We do sign things off with a somewhat different note, as some of us did manage to watch Chhalaang (1:24:28). Keep an eye out for Part 2 next week of our special episodes on Unsolved Mysteries.

This week we watched Ludo on Netflix, as our stockpile of borrowed topics appears to be running dangerously low. The main Diwali release of the season is a crime movie delivered in the most cookie-cutter way possible, a good trailer to review we shared on the podcast (11:30). Then we watched a 2018 documentary on Flat Earthers, Behind the Curve, which once again explains how 2020 is essentially something we should have seen coming long ago (33:01). As time ran out, we discussed sports we find dull, where the usual suspects get piled on 1:03:30). A thoroughly unremarkable week, which in the Covid era, is something we all desperately need.

This week as the world wonders how elections actually work, we step into the pool with our non-expert opinion on the 2020 American Presidential election. This includes attempts to find positives in the Trump-era, Biden’s effect for India, and armchair speculation on foreign policy (5:04). We then gush over tales of how we lost our innocence, which turns morbid due to some people (50:22). We then complete the episode by picking out which FRIENDS character each one of us is (1:10:34). This podcast will attempt to avoid BuzzFeed content in the future .

As we keep talking policy decisions for some reason, this week, the guys decide to imagine having the power to make a decision. If each of us was Prime Minister for a day, what would we do? After sufficiently proving our skill at copying the plot points of Nayak (06:43), we move on towards deciding which fictional world we’d love to be a part of. We give character preferences, vague goals and overall unproductive reasons to be in any of these realms (1:01:07). This week the Vele round things off with IPL 2020 picks, as the playoffs and finals are upon us (1:16:14).
