We are back with another episode of VC from VBC. That’s right, everyone’s favorite Una Farrar joins the cast to talk about her career, her role in Canadian Olympics and some strange dreams from early in her skate journey. Actually it wasn’t a dream, Ryan really did do a demo with the Featch and Ipath in 2011. What else do you need to know? It’s funny and fun and you’re going to learn something and you’ll be a more committed partner, a better parent or sibling and you’ll finally start doing switch flips right. All you have to do is listen to us for an hour. Sold.

What’s up, skaters?!

Welcome back to another episode of Vent City. Logging on to talk all the good and the bad from 2021, we got Kristin Ebeling, Ryan Lay, Ted Barrow and Ted Schmitz. Is it really easy to forget what happened last year? Yes. Did we remember and catalog everything that was noteworthy? Also, yes—no exceptions. We get into the good stuff with skate parts from our favorite people like Max Wheeler, Jacopo Carozzi and Breana Geering. Then the bad stuff like NFTs and the fact that we are stuck in the slow decline of a dying empire! Maybe not that last part, but it’s still true. And of course, the question on everyone’s mind: Is Cariuma going to save the planet? No. But luckily, skating with the people you love is still pretty much the coolest thing. What's Up, Skaters?!

Goddamn, got some cobwebs to brush off, but we do it in style with the first-ever FULL-CAST episode about everyone's favorite topic: The 2020 Tokyo Summer Games. You know what is going on. On this episode we discuss the skateboarding film Lords of Dogtown (no Z). Kyle Beachy (book author), Ted Schmitz (show notes author), and Tim Ward (not at all an author, but he's on another podcast, so that counts for something?) look at the the general failing of skate films by taking apart the characters and story presented in this strange studio feature. How it got made, we may never know, but maybe there was a market maybe? If you liked the film, that's fine; it's good to have joy where you can. We, however, did not enjoy it. Anyways, I'm gonna keep these notes extra short 'cause putting much thought into things these days seems to take about 50 times longer than usual. Oh damn, you noticed we already published #34 and this is #33? That's 'cause we recorded this conversation with the wonderful Trevor Thompson before our Ashly episode. Who cares about a number anyways? Trevor's is 100-percent the best skater from Connecticut who also lived in Florida and also frequently goes to St. Louis but lives in LA and isn't all that fond of skating in LA.
