Davis challenged us to be a community where it’s safe to ask hard questions and to keep coming back to Jesus and his people, trusting that God isn’t finished with our stories—or our doubts.

This week at Veritas, we look at one of the most unexpected stories in the Bible—when Jesus interrupts the life of Saul, the last person anyone thought could ever follow Him. Saul wasn’t curious, searching, or close. He was hostile. He hated Christians. And yet Jesus stepped into his story at just the right moment and changed everything.

Through Acts 9, we see that God is still doing this today. He is still interrupting stories, opening eyes, rescuing, and saving—often in the people we would least expect. And before this becomes a message about “them,” it becomes a reminder about us: we were once Saul too, rescued by grace alone.

God isn’t finished. Not with you. Not with the people you’ve given up on. Not with His church.

This week at Veritas we look at the story of Philip in Acts 8—a seemingly ordinary guy who chose to say yes to God. When persecution scattered the early church, Philip didn’t chase comfort; he followed the Spirit. And through his obedience, entire cities were changed.

God isn’t looking for the most impressive people; He’s looking for faithful ones. The story of Philip reminds us that ordinary faithfulness can lead to extraordinary impact when we trust the God who sends us.
