In this episode we cover paragraphs 39-41. Leo explains when it is good to adapt to the times but also when it is dangerous to "get with the times." We review some of the Church legates who are in favor of "getting with the times." We describe this Liberal Catholicism as it is connected to Masonic-Enlightenment principles. Some very relevant prophecies are discussed.

Leo's condemnation of religious liberty and separation of church and state are briefly reviewed. We have talked extensively about some of the problems of the world. Pope Leo says that the teaching of sound doctrine is the treatment for these illnesses. We talked about Pope Leo's pronouncement against the idea of "getting with the times" and addressed some specific examples from those in the hierarchy. Finally, we talked about the Church's true teaching of toleration of evil versus the modern idea of promotion of evil.

In paragraph 30 we review Leo's coverage of "liberty of conscience." We discuss the proper Catholic understanding of this idea and the importance of a well-formed conscience. This leads to a brief discussion on modernism. The "synthesis of all errors" is the culmination of many issues we have discussed thus far in the series.

Leo discusses truth. In this episode he specifically addresses those teachers and reminds all that the duty of teachers is to banish error from the mind. We discuss how some teachers who do not have the truth are incapable of teaching it and therefore teach error. Leo describes the Church as "the greatest and most reliable teacher of mankind" and that "through His heavenly gift she cannot be deceived." Papal infallibility, and it's limitations, are also examined.
