We're back! But unlike the dinosaur movie that ended up with no sequels, this is just the beginning of a new exciting year for us here at the VF Comics Podcast! This week we get into previews, Image Comics small union voting for form, Bad Idea releasing their only digital comic to honor the great Ryan Bodenheim, finally ending with some stuff we have been reading this week.

Please excuse the puppy paw sounds in the background. = )

It's going to be a wild year! Hop on the ride!

We are all super full this week after Thanksgiving, so we take some time to get moving. Don't worry though, because we are going to talk about a new text on the history of comics, what makes Sideshow Collectables so important, look into a new Heartstopper publication, before ending with some good recommendations from James and Marcus.

This week the VF Comics Podcast is proud to have Jessica Carson, writer for the CW's The Flash, and amazing filmmaker in her own right. Jess will get to talk with us about her experiences working on the Flash, particularly the ins and outs of adapting a character that has been around for decades. Later on, we get to an update on the latest comic book union news with a response from Image Comics, before hearing about a great book that Jess has brought to share with us.

Another busy week! This week the gang gets to talk about the comic book union forming in Image Comics and how it might affect the rest of the industry. Later they have a discussion about Taika Waititi's upcoming adaptation of Jodorowsky's classic graphic novel, the Incal. During that discussion the group discusses some controversy in Jodorowsky's past. Rounding out the important news is the fact that publisher Bad Idea is giving rocks if you send in a limited collectors pin. Seems like a bad idea. Finally, Marcus recommends Klaus, the origins of Santa by Grant Morrison and Dan Mora.

This week the crew has some casual and tough discussions about all of the Superman news this week. This ends up involving some real conversations, cynicism, and hope about the future of comics. We finish up more lightly with some great recommendations for two very different kinds of books.
