Sam LeDoux is not a stranger to Espanola and he definitely is not a stranger to politics. Born and raised in the Valley, a graduate of Pojoaque High school. Sam was a voice since early childhood where his advocacy began in the cafeteria room as he highlighted the dedication of the cafeteria staff. This is where Sam's heart embarked on many adventures through running campaigns and working for many major political figures through The United States. Sam came home to bring his knowledge and talents to his very home, Espanola.

Today Sam challenges the hardest politics in our very community as he takes on the hardest topics of the unhoused, the drug fentanyl epidemic that has devastated and swept through our valley.

Sam does not take lightly to any challenge, as his experience has taught him "hard ball" and diplomacy.

A regular figure through social media, and city council, Mr. LeDoux has listened to countless voices through the valley to bring light and validation to many.

I was very happy to sit with Sam and reassured that we have such a powerful representative that carries the love of Espanola close to his own heart and is willing to fight for the good of Espanola and potential growth we so need today.

Olivia Romo, born in Taos New Mexico is a strong beautiful voice that echoes the enchantment of her culture and strong sisterhood. Through her poetry and her activism, you can literally feel the yearning to preserve our roots. As Olivia brings honor to her ancestors by being a voice of yesterday, today. You can feel her channeling our great-great Abuelas and Abuelos and the wisdom that brings soothing balm to a wounded people.

What is our cultura worth to us? There is a pride in our people and how have people forgotten their worth?

So much was covered in this episode. It was during this podcast that I was so truly inspired by my beautiful sister Olivia. How we must fight for the solidarity and our voice. How we have slightly forgotten by so many distractions and obstacles. And how it is important to teach our children and guide them to know and take pride in the richness of their culture and traditions.

As Vibe New Mexico begins, the very first guest is no other than my beautiful amazing Amiga April Valencia AKA "LA LOCA LOLA- APRIL!"

April shares her recovery journey. She is simply, April, real, honest and raw. She doesn't hold back. She speaks openly of her struggles and how every day she makes this choice to remain sober and thriving for success. Through the hardest and darkest moments April speaks about the influences through New Mexico music scene. The alcohol which is typically associated with the scene, and the celebrations.

The darkest moments of losing friends and her total devotion to her mother who continues to be a pillar and foundational matriarch.

I am so very exited for you all to hear this story. Every day individuals struggle with addiction and recovery. It takes the lack of judgmental "finger pointing" to see an addiction for what it is. April shares how the "system" was necessary in her situation to hold the accountability that was needed for her recovery and sobriety today.

With the permission of one of the most prominent and prestigious New Mexico family bands, "The Blue Ventures," April requested that we spotlight no better song than, Ayudame.

Bobby Madrid from Villa Nueva NM  began his musical talents as a young determined school boy. He was introduced to NM Music by his father. He never was raised listening to NM music but was instantly intrigued by the sound. Bobby was encouraged to learn other instruments because trumpet did NOT come easy to him. However, Bobby's determination would be his saving grace. Not only did it make him one of NM finest horn players in NM Music, but it would be key to his sobriety and success today. Bobby opens up about the struggles in NM music while drinking heavily and then the pivotal turning point where sobriety was necessary. Bobby talks openly about the misconceptions of drinking and playing music and how sobriety is a choice. And still a daily choice, sometimes a hard choice but a doable choice when you are focused on the right things. He is encouraging in stating that "If he can do it, anyone can." 

Bobby is now hitting the NM Music charts with a newfound love and peace as his sobriety is the most amazing accomplishment. Bobby speaks about his pride in attaining his stardom Sober. 

Vibe NM is honored that Bobby was able to share his story of his struggle and his amazing talents. 

I am so happy to finally be getting back to Vibe NM with two amazing artist's. Vito Sr. played all over the united States and shared the stage with prestigious musicians. He eventually came back to NM. Within this time he collaborated with musicians and Vito Sr. influenced a unique sound with a unique guitar and specific Amp.  He manifested this guitar and it appeared after a long period of time in his home town of Taos. This story is only one of the amazing stories you will hear on this episode of Vibe NM. 

Vito Jr. who is no stranger to NM music scene. Vito Jr was his fathers right hand man. He then developed a love for music and the guitar. This influential sound developed and the two are a father son duo. Vito not only is a talented NM musician, as many within NM music know he also a highly respected New Mexico DJ for New Mex Radio. Vito easily became one of NM favorite interviewers. 

As many of you who follow Vibe NM know I recently explained the pause within Vibe NM. This is because of the many events and opportunities that have presented themselves not only to myself as Andrea Michelle, but also Grupo "Divino" who Anthony and I are so blessed to be a part of. 

Originally when we recorded this episode we had so much fun! Like every episode we try to make it as laid back as possible. Our hopes is that you feel you are sitting in the same room with us. (And yes that with all the kids and barking dogs as well) The goal is to really give the listeners a feeling that they are being shown a very honest, raw and real perspective of the NM musician or artist experience. 

This time was not the best in regards to the sound quality. This was a technical sound error that was fixed for future episodes. We felt terrible, as we would like everyone to hear clearly the overall message. However, the content from Vito Sr. and Vito Jr was irreplaceable. And so with permission from the amazing "Vito's" and after much consideration of rerecording, it was decided to go ahead with the original recording.

Anakaela Trujillo is from Taos NM. She is NO stranger to the New Mexico music scene. She started storming the NM music charts at a young age and continues to be one of the youngest and prestigious New Mexico artists. Anakaela talks about how her preforming began and all the struggles in-between. Currently this young "Supernova" is getting ready to graduate top of her class and begin her next chapter as she embarks on college and a career in her musical endeavors and talents. This beautiful young woman is not just a phenomenal talent but she is smart, focused and destined for stardom. She talks about the pressures young people face through social media and the pressures of "being your own worst critic."

Louie and Tony Moya take us for a look behind how sensational brother duo began. With a strong Christian upbringing these men were mentored by their father Willie Moya at a young age. They preformed for any and everything they could and continues to live up to those same callings.

Vibe NM proudly welcomes one of MY most favorite women, Maggie La Rancherita Vigil. She grew up singing and raised her two boys who went on to lead very productive lives. (One son, Josh G who had the love of music instilled by this remarkable woman.)

The second her voice hits your ears you are instantly embraced by her emotion, energy and her talent. But not only is Rancherita an amazing talent and mother she is a very humble and colorful personality. You quickly fall in love with this woman. Her passion for music is clearly her passion for life. She is the ultimate "Mera Mera" and definition of a "Strong Independent Woman" We look into Maggie's life and her talents, her advice for the younger generation, and her musical influences. Rancherita tells a story with her voice and guitar playing. It instantly brings tears to my eyes. Her talent is so much more than a strong voice but her emotion and deliverance when she sings is a true gift. 

Happy New Year 2022, and Welcome back to Season 3 of Vibe NM! It was an awesome time talking with Luisa G, New Mexico's newest female Artist. Luisa is from Lubbock Texas and came into the music scene by storm. Her release, "No Llego el Olvido" quickly climbed NM Music charts. Since then she has easily become one of NM favorites. Produced by "Daniel Lee Gallegos" They have formed a wonderful music collaboration. Daniel calls Luisa "A Diamond in the Rough." And Continues to climb NM Music charts.

Luisa has released recently her 2nd CD entitled, "La Tejana Nuevo Mexicana." Luisa talks about her new experience in the music. She talks about being a mother and wife and raising her family before she embarked on her musical career. As a woman she has given us a look into the eyes of a new artist following her dreams as a performer. As well as, it not mattering  the age or the barriers when one would like to pursue their dreams.
