We've reached Mix One Hundred! Oh yes, this is the 100th unique (that's no repeats) mixes of funky and soulful grooves I've put out. What a fantastic milestone to reach, thanks so much for tuning in. So what does mix 100 have in store for you? Well, we debut some funky grooves from Alex Newell, Excellent Gentlemen, Wayne Brady, Ned Doheny, Joe Coleman, and Leela James. Plus there's classics George Duke, Thelma Houston, Diana Ross and Incognito, and we round it off with one of the many great tracks from Tony Momrelle's debut solo album, Keep Pushing.

Mix 99 will leave you feelin' funky and fine. It debuts Bill Deal, Uptown Funk Empire, Ryle, Dynamax & Eric Rug, Kiki Kyte, and Ultra nate - whilst spinning fine cuts from Roy Ayers, Heatwave, The Sunburst Band and Billy Paul.

Mix ninety eight is a funk heavyweight. There's Stevie Wonder like you've never heard before, Prince, Gruvthang, Bruno Mars, Kraak & Smaak, M-ROCK, Wanda Walden, 80s Child, Brooklyn Funk Essentials - as well as brand new cuts from Incognito and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Licks for Kicks is all about the gee-tarr. It's an eclectic mix of some of the funky and funk-edged guitar licks that never leave my head, and of some of my favourite guitar-laden tracks. From choppy, funky licks to shredding, wailing guitar solos. This mix has the lot. From Bendeth to Benson, from the Doobie Brothers to the Isley Brothers. From Nile Rodgers to Prince. And it ends with something special from the latter.

We're in funk and soul heaven with mix ninety seven. This mix brings contemporary cuts from Alissia, Shaun Escoffery, Justin Timberlake, the James Taylor Quartet, Linosaur, George McCrae and new jazz sensation Jacob Collier. Complementing these are classic tracks from George Duke, Stevie Wonder and Maze.

Dropping like a tonne of funk bricks, it's mix ninety six, which is packed with contemporary cuts from Sigala featuring Nile Rodgers, the Los Charlie's Orchestra boys, Brother Strut, and Tuxedo. As well as vintage grooves from War, Quincy Jones, Grey & Hanks and Herbie Hancock. Also featuring a double shot from Prince and a classic from Billy Paul who also passed away recently.

Mix 95 is alive with the sound of funky music. We've got contemporary cuts from Crazy P, Soul Motivators, Kraak & Smaak and one of my favourites from Joey Negro's second volume of 'Remixed With Love'. There's also vintage funk from Rokotto, T.S. Monk, The Kay-Gees, Earth, Wind & Fire, Patrice Rushen, Fatback Band and Breakwater.

This is my personal tribute to Maurice White, the visionary behind Earth, Wind & Fire and composer of so much of their incredible catalogue of music, who passed away in February 2016. It features one or more of my favourite tracks from every EWF album upto the early eighties and concludes with two of Maurice White's finest mid-tempo, life-affirming songs, which he was a master of crafting and which are a most fitting way to bid farewell to the man himself. The mix is sprinkled with excerpts of Maurice White speaking about music and the band from the EWF documentary, Shining Stars. Here's to the man who, probably more than anyone, believed in the power of music, and had the talent and will to exercise that power such that it enriched so many people's lives.
