Meet Our Guest:  Lombard was raised in Los Angeles, California. From abuse to published author, from broken pieces to peace, she has pushed through pain and hardships to become a survivor who inspires thousands. Her novel, “Revelation at Cliff House: The Heartbreak, Betrayal and Deliverance of Daphne M. Lancy tells the story of a young woman who tried to end it all, but fell instead into the caring hands of a handsome, young doctor who understood her, perhaps a little too well, for his own young life was met with equal, sinister destruction.  She found great strength in her faith and the power of forgiveness.

When asked about adding author to her list of credits, Cynthia comments, “It’s surreal to actually add under my credits; published author.  The response has been so positive and amazing! I’ve always known a story was inside of me, but to actually give birth and have it materialize and touch the lives of others is an amazing feeling.”

On This Episode Of The Beautiful Butterfly Radio Show we Bring you " Author's Spotlight WIth " Author Steven Van Patten of The Brookwater's Curse Series. 

Meet Our Guest: Steven Van Patten is a Brooklyn native, raised in Fort Greene. After graduating from Long Island University's Brooklyn Campus on a full scholarship, he pursued a career in television production. When he's not writing scary stories, he can be found stage managing various TV shows in the New York area.

As a child, Steven couldn't help but notice a lack of cultural diversity in the horror and sci-fi movies that he otherwise loved. There was also little character development where people of color were concerned. After being disappointed time and time again, Steven decided to bring his own visions to life. As an adult, he studied over historical research night after night, and traveled to various locales around the globe in order to give his stories a proper sense of worldliness. The end result is the Brookwater's Curse series, three (soon to be four) novels focused on the odyssey of Christian Brookwater, an 1860s Georgia plantation slave who becomes a monster-slaying vampire residing in modern day New York.

MEET OUR GUEST: Author Jay Doubleu discovered her writing gift in her teen years.  Angrily, writing about her frustration about about life, confusion and her sister’s annoying obsession with vacuum lines in the carpet. As Jay Doubleu began to furiously pen stories about her frustration with her sister's obsession, she realized the stories began to take a life of their own.  The characters began to develop personality and the writing became therapeutic.  The writing became a way to express that which was not easy to speak or understand.

Theresa tha S.O.N.G.B.I.R.D. is a consummate singer-spoken word artist-performer, infusing her works with a special brand of wit, humor and soul. Writing since age 14 and singing from age 9, Theresa Tha Songbird is no stranger to the stage and an addict to creativity.  Theresa began performing poetry as a teen for her High school speech team and quickly rose to become a champion competition Verse Reader. As the only black student to graduate from the 2004 Millikin University School of Music Theresa garnered tenacity in hard work and an ultimate faith in her talents.  Her art is sound and word therapy.  She is healing each audience member and listener with a well-tuned vibration of love through poetry and song.

Atlanta resident and Chicago native S.O.N.G.B.I.R.D. is taking the world by storm as she tours her one-woman show, " B.I.R.D. is the WORD" throughout the country.  Fueled by the love of creating Theresa is constantly writing and pushing her talents.  She is presently producing and recording new music with her Iglootew Studios associate and producer, Terry Gordon of the Greasekydz.  In becoming the primary female R& B vocalist associated with Iglootew Studios S.O.N.G.B.I.R.D. has worked alongside Atlanta's underground hip-hop stars writing and guest performing on multiple projects including work with Dead Pres producer, Mike Flo.  Most recently S.O.N.G.B.I.R.D. has had the honor of appearing on the season 3 Finale episode of Verses and Flow engineered by Lexus on TVOne, appearing alongside CNN “Black in America” poets,Vision and Jon Goode.
