Vibrations Seris

To contribute something to the series I recorded a few warmup‘s that I played recently in clubs. I chose the one recorded at my residency club in Cologne - Gewölbe. Beginning with Ambient, building up with Trance and House ending with some 4-to-the-floor tracks. Normally I’m recording mixes with a prepared selection at home, for this one I decided to take a club recording as mixing in clubs is more a spontaneous and energetic thing in comparison to mixing at home. Only Vinyl, like always.

I wanted to base this recording on the idea of Anemoia, a sense of nostalgia for something that you’ve never experienced, an intangible feeling in your gut that makes you yearn for an ideal that may not even exist.

The mix entitled Psychedellic Romance, is based around an intense emotional connection in a lucid state. A flowing mix between 75bpm - 150bpm where only happiness and a carefree life prevails in a futuristic world of jungle and nature close earth.

For this mix I focused on navigating at a slower pace, also letting some tracks breathe naturally. It's a minimalistic and personal take, different from what I usually deliver, but here are many of my foundations (aesthetic wise).

2021 has been a challenging year, physically, mentally and creatively. This is the first mix i've done in 12 months - a mixture of the arcane, past and modern; acoustic and electronic. A soundtrack to usher in the long winter nights and a closing of chapters.

This is the first mix I have recorded since the autumnal equinox. It is dedicated to the absence of light. "...allein mir fehlt der Glaube."

When recording this mix, I imagined a sunrise in the forest, an endless sea horizon, a huge space hall. This two-hour mix will take you on an ecstatic journey.
