  • Vicarious Competition Ep 10 - Alternate Win Conditions
There was a really good discussion on social media today about what MonPoc
would look like with scenarios, or alternate win conditions. To me it feels
like MonPoc is extremely far off from needing scenarios to keep the game
interesting. Scenarios are a way to enhance stale gameplay, and MonPoc is
as fresh as they come ;)

  • Vicarious Competition Ep 09 - Kompetitive Komkor
Komkor 001 on release was rightfully dubbed and “Apartment Building with
Legs”. This Monster falls well short of what you want to see in a
competitive environment. I really like the look of Zerkalo Bloc models so I
wanted to challenge myself to see if I can build a list for Komkor 001 I’m
happy with. Zerkalo fans shouldn’t worry too much either way since Zavod
075 and Voyaka 099 are both really strong choices!

  • Vicarious Competition Ep 08 - Sportsmanship Part 2
Treating each other with respect is extremely important during your games
and in general. I wanted to finish my thoughts from the previous episode to
make sure I got through what I needed to say. If both you and your opponent
aren’t having fun, you’re not winning. (OK you can still win but you get
    the point..)

  • Vicarious Competition Ep 07 - Sportsmanship Part 1
Sportsmanship is extremely important no matter what game you’re playing,
and MonPoc isn’t any different. Playing to win, or “try harding” is not a
free license to be a jerk in the competitive setting. I would even argue
the opposite in that you should be extra courteous to your opponent when
bringing a brutal top-tier list. We’re all here to have fun, so here’s some
of my experience from playing at a competitive level over the years

  • Vicarious Competition Ep 06 - Play it Painted
Whether you paint your own models or support local artists, it’s always
great to see painted models across the table. I always try to keep myself
motivated by only including models in my lists once I’ve finished painting
them to try and cash in on my excitement for new releases. Here’s a little
rambling and inspiration for the hobbyists out there.

  • Vicarious Competition Ep 02 - Why Should I?
Welcome back! Episode 2 talks about the gameplay mechanics in MonPoc that
give it the foundation to be more than a casual “beer and pretzels game”. I
briefly explore the areas of tactical depth that make this game so engaging
to play even at the highest level.
