Today we’re continuing our series of devotion messages on Psalm 103.

There’s a word in this verse that doesn’t come up a lot in the bible…harbor.

Pastor and his family recently went on vacation to Maine and couldn’t help but notice the many harbors and all the types of boats that stay there until the owner wants to take it out. Have you ever asked yourself what you’re harboring in your soul today?

Maybe it’s something positive that brings joy and happiness. Maybe it’s something negative that fuels lies and bitterness? Harboring things in our heart can be good and bad.

What is God harboring about you? That’s where we’re going today with this message!

Psalm 73 Open Your Eyes! About this psalm, Martin Luther said, “Psalm 73 is a teaching psalm against the great irritation when godless, prosperous rich people ridicule poor, beleaguered believers as if God pays no attention to them. But God says, ‘Stop! Go into the sanctuary, and hear what the Word of God says about the situation. Such evil people will suddenly come to nothing, for there is no foundation under them.”

Romans 8:28-39 Open Your Eyes! God did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all. How will he not also give us all things? We are MORE THAN CONQUERORS!

Matthew 14:22-33 (sermon verses) Open Your Eyes! In the middle of the storm, Jesus announced, "Take courage. It is I. Don't be afraid." Wherever we go, this is always true.

Last month was Confirmation Sunday at our church! A time when young people from our congregation who have been studying the Word, stand up and confess their faith and prepare their hearts to take communion.

Each student picks a confirmation verse for them to hold close to their heart for their whole life. Today’s verse, chosen by Gabrielle Jackson, is Matthew 7:24-27 .

More pleasure! More money! Live for that because aren’t you missing out if you don’t?

Those are common thoughts in today’s world but living for those things to bring you happiness is like building your house on sand. It’s unstable and ever changing!

Wouldn’t you like your life to be a life that’s built on something that will last? That will not only withstand the storms that come your way but THRIVE?

Last month we had Confirmation Sunday at our church! A time when young people from our congregation who have been studying the Word, stand up and confess their faith and prepare their hearts to take communion.

Even though Psalm 23 is only 6 verses, it's a deep well from which christians can draw up comfort and strength, and encouragement from God's word!

Death, worry, anxiety, and other scary moments like this can be dark valley's in our life! The Lord has not only promised to be with us in those dark times but to bring us to be home with him forever!
