Eric has since moved on to work for the very company thats Makes Halo today (343 Studios) and now with EA Sports. His love for video games in general has then moved into collecting over the last year or so. In that year he has picked up some great games and gained amazing knowledge in such a short period of time.

Our Special guest today is a long long time collector and incredibly humble and nice guy Pieter (Speedy_Nes). Having started collecting way back in 1996, Pieter has more than a wealth of knowledge as well as a great view on collecting as a whole.

He is also now claiming the longest podcast to date with nothing but great stuff all the way through. You may know Pieter from NintendoAge as he was one of the first 5 members to join and then be a moderator.

Pieter gives us a look at things you may not have even thought about or considered as well as really cool and very rare items! It is really hard not to like him with his positive attitude and infectious smile. Really hope you enjoy this episode as we will need to bring him back on the continue where we left off.

It was one of those game changing weekend signature sales at Heritage auctions on this Easter weekend. We saw the record public sale for a video games which was a Mario Hangtab 9.6 A+ at $660,000.00!!!!! Wow. Not to mention, 2 other games in the same auction that went on to break $100,000.00 as well. Followed by a slew of $20,000-$50,000 games.

On Easter Sunday, there was a bit of a meltdown and freezing of the auction, so it was quickly shut down and resumed on Monday. This was likely a good thing, as amazing sales continued as you will see in the video.

There are a few pivot points in video game collecting history and in my eyes, this auction was one of them. To be clear, there were a lot of quality games in the auction with amazing grades.

Video Game Collectors Podcast #7 Welcomes Special Guest AcidJaguar (NA name, actually Andrew). I had personally just known Andrew through online chat and then eventually selling a game too (in the video). After meeting him here, I had no idea how deep into "paper' collecting for Nintendo, SNES, Gameboy, and others that he really was! His knowledge and paper collection is insane. He also is just such a laid back, great guy, that he was a real pleasure to talk to and we will have to have him back again to drop more bombs as we honestly just ran out of time to go longer (thats what she said).

If you ever want to smoke a pipe in a velvet chair by a fireplace in the woods, just listening to the crackling of the fire while gazing into each others eyes, there is no better person to do it with than Andrew 😁 😂.
