Day 41 in 60 Days of Halloween wraps up Fear of Death Week, the fear of J.R. Mounts (scairytalesnoir.com), with the palette cleanser Escape from New York - a "futuristic" dystopian take on classic westerns (at least, that's how we see it) that brings up societal issues that are still very relevant.  Also, we find a way to connect Escape from New York to the Super Mario Bros. movie...because of course we do....

Day 40 in 60 Days of Halloween continues Fear of Death Week, the fear of J.R. Mounts (scairytalesnoir.com), with Halloween II - a great slasher flick in its own right and definitely a solid sequel...but isn't quite able to stand up next to the masterpiece of Halloween.

If you enjoy this episode, check out our previous 60 Days of Halloween coverage and be sure to check back tomorrow as we have a palette cleanser before diving into the analysis episode for Fear of Death Week with with J.R. Mounts!!

Day 39 in 60 Days of Halloween continues Fear of Death Week, the fear of J.R. Mounts (scairytalesnoir.com), with Halloween - one of the most iconic and influential horror movies that has a lasting impact on anyone who has seen it.  Tonight's episode is extra special because it might or might not have been the first time that Eric watched Halloween (it totally is...).

Day 38 in 60 Days of Halloween continues Fear of Death Week, the fear of J.R. Mounts (scairytalesnoir.com), with Christine - a premise that sounds silly (it is about a demon car, afterall) until you realize that it is actually kind of terrifying (it is totally not really about the demon car at all...).

If you enjoy this episode, check out our previous 60 Days of Halloween coverage and be sure to check back tomorrow as we continue Fear of Death Week with Halloween!!

Day 37 in 60 Days of Halloween continues Fear of Death Week, the fear of J.R. Mounts (scairytalesnoir.com), with The Thing - a sci-fi, body horror-esque monster movie that plays heavily on distrust and the monster within!  The Thing is not only one of my favorite horror movies, but one of my all-time favorite movies in general!!

If you enjoy this episode, check out our previous 60 Days of Halloween coverage and be sure to check back tomorrow as we continue Fear of Death Week with Christine!!

Day 36 in 60 Days of Halloween kicks off Fear of Death Week, the fear of J.R. Mounts (scairytalesnoir.com), and we are getting things started with The Fog - a simple (yet, not simplistic) ghost story by John Carpenter that evokes the same chills you got when you were younger and told scary stories around a campfire!

Day 34 in 60 Days of Halloween wraps up the reviews for Fear of Going Insane Week before diving into the analysis episode with special guest, Graham Skipper! And we are ending the week on a definite high note with In the Mouth of Madness - a John Carpenter film (I could stop there and it would be reason enough to love this movie) with a story that feels like Stephen King meets H.P. Lovecraft, starring Sam Neill!!

Day 33 in 60 Days of Halloween continues Fear of Going Insane Week, the fear of Graham Skipper, with Session 9 - a horror might that might follow the horror trope of an abandoned asylum a little too closely, but that has a focus on the characters and tells a simple story without being simplistic.

If you enjoy this episode, check out our previous 60 Days of Halloween coverage and be sure to check back tomorrow as we continue Fear of Going Insane Week with In the Mouth of Madness!!
