  • Sequence Break - special guest Graham Skipper
If you are a fan of indie horror, you are probably familiar with the name Graham Skipper. Whether he has the lead role or just a bit part (Beyond the Gates, Almost Human, Feeding Time...just to name a few), Graham's genuine love for horror shines through practically every role he plays. And that genuine love for horror is certainly apparent in his feature-length directorial debut, Sequence Break, which just recently premiered on Shudder! The IMDB description of Sequence Break is: "A surreal sci-fi romance wherein a beautiful young woman and strange metaphysical forces threaten the reality of a reclusive video arcade technician, resulting in bizarre biomechanical mutations and a shocking self-realization."
In this episode of The Gargyle Podcast, Graham joins me as we analyze and discuss the film, horror, romance, love, obsession...and even a dash of Star Wars!

  • BFF Girls - Brian Lonano, Jessica Shipp, & William Mahaffey
This is what you wanted...an episode of The Gargyle Podcast with special guests Brian Lonano (writer/director of short films, such as BFF Girls, Gwilliam, and Crow Hand), Jessica Shipp (who plays Lily in BFF Girls), and William Mahaffey (director of the Knoxville Horror Film Festival)!! Tonight's episode focuses on BFF Girls (Brian's latest short film), which is a wonderfully off-kilter action comedy of three best friends fighting a tampon monster and facing off against the evil Fabuloso Doom! We also discuss some of Brian's earlier work, inspiration, and influences...what it is like for significant others to work on projects together...and William has good news about the Knoxville Horror Film Festival, which hasn't yet been announced anywhere else!! It was an absolute blast talking to Brian, Jessica, and William and I cannot wait to see what else each of them has in store!

  • Dementia Part II - special guests Matt Mercer & Mike Testin
If you caught any of my 2018 Chattanooga Film Festival coverage, then you know how much I loved Dementia Part II! This black and white, neo-noir, midnight horror movie about a guy struggling against an increasingly uncomfortable situation (and maybe an amorous zombie??) is the brain-child of writers/directors (actors, cinematographers, and practically every thing else-ers) Matt Mercer and Mike Testin! And in tonight's episode, Matt and Mike join me to discuss their creative process, cinematic influences, and share some behind-the-scenes information about "the unnecessary midnight movie sequel to Dementia that you never knew you wanted!"
If you enjoy this episode, be sure to go back and check out my CFF2018 coverage, including a podcast with Matt Mercer, Graham Skipper, and Kevin Sluder. And be sure to keep checking back at gargylereviews.wixsite.com/thegargyle for more episodes of The Gargyle Podcast - where geekery abounds!

Welcome to another episode of The Gargyle Podcast!  Closing out our coverage of the 2018 Chattanooga Film Festival, tonight Daniel, Tim, and I discuss our top picks of the weekend.  While we love just about everything that we see at CFF each year, these are the films that especially stood out to us this year:  Emergency (short film), Lowlife, A Prayer Before Dawn, Summer of 84, and Tigers Are Not Afraid.  Along with discussing why these films especially stood out to us, we also rehash a bit about the other CFF 2018 films we loved!

  • Chattanooga Film Festival 2018 coverage - Interview with Matt Mercer, Graham Skipper, and Kevin Sluder

Welcome to another episode of The Gargyle Podcast!  Tonight's episode was recorded at the Chattanooga Film Festival, with special guests Matt Mercer, Graham Skipper, and Kevin Sluder!  If you aren't familiar with their work, they are awesome actors, directors, writers, producers (and so on), and podcasting with them was probably...no...DEFINITELY the best part of the weekend at CFF for me!!  The movies that they have been involved with in past years of CFF have been some of my favorites from each year.  Not only did that hold true for this year as well, but it practically felt like a Matt & Graham-fest, with all that they were involved in!  So, if you are a fan of their work, or if you just like hearing a bunch of horror and film nerds talk, well, horror and film...then I hope that you enjoy my interview with Matt Mercer, Graham Skipper, and Kevin Sluder!

As I've mentioned in the past several episodes, Daniel and Tim have

  • Chattanooga Film Festival 2018 coverage - Films Just Wanna Have Fun (just wanna...they just wanna-a-aa)
Welcome to another episode of The Gargyle Podcast!  Continuing our coverage of the Chattanooga Film Festival, tonight Daniel, Tim, and I discuss some of the most "fun" movies of the weekend.  All of the movies discussed in tonight's episode were either horror or violent in nature, some of which were very, very bloody...hence the "fun" being in quotes.  They were violent and bloody, but they also look like they were a lot of fun to make and they are definitely fun to watch (if you enjoy horror)!  Even though these were some of the most fun movies of the weekend (and personally some of my favorites of the weekend!)...just talking about them is nowhere near as much fun in comparison as watching them.  So, hopefully our discussions did justice to just how much fun these movies were and how much we loved them!  Tonight's movies include The Ranger, My Monster (short film), All the Creatures Were Stirring, Rock Ste
