In this episode we get to talk to Ava Silvery (aka Akosua Viktoria Adu-Sanyah) about life as a working creative and running a youtube channel. Hopefully this is just the first episode of many with Ava as it was a super fun conversation and very interesting.
Have a listen, folks!
Previously, in episode 19 of the Viewfinder Vikings, Ian described the process of making a zine by recording his day out photographing work, and subsequent processing and production steps. We had lots of great feedback on that episode, and several people wanting more details of the process steps and creative choices involved.
Well, earlier this week Ian had the opportunity to talk to the Sunny 16 Film Photography Podcast hosts, Ade and Graeme on episode 185 of their show. He answered questions about the process as they prepared to produce their first collaborative zine. It was an 80 minute conversation and Ian was able to explore the process in more details than on VV19.
Rather than blatant self-promotion, we like to think of this cross-posting of another podcast as a service to listeners of episode 19 who had questions. Of course, if you still have questions on how to make your first zine, please do get in touch.
Anyway, if you're already a Sunny16 subscriber and have heard this week's show, there's nothing new here for you other than a brief introduction. If not, hit play and enjoy.
Mixam printing - https://mixam.co.uk/
A solo episode where Ian Barnaby Nutt talks you through the process of creating a photozine.
He demonstrates that the subject matter of your zine doesn't need to be a lifetime's work or some conceptual art piece, but can be as simple as YOU want it to be. He also talks about how to prepare your images prior to sending on to your chosen printing company.
If you've always wanted to put out a zine but worried that your work isn't ready, find out how you can get a FREE copy of the zine that Ian is working on during the episode that might provide the inspiration you need to take your first steps.
In this episode we have yet another chat with our very good friend David Allen, this time about the positives and negative sides of inkjet- and darkroom printing. We also announce a HUGE giveaway, so dont hesitate to join!
Yet again David Allen is here, and this time we get to talk to him about important stuff. And also lots of cool stuff.
In this episode I talk to David Allen, the man who puts the D in Dangerboyz! What might be a bit different with this conversation is that is NOT about tanky mconeshot, or OneShot:Inchindown, but rather a deep dive into Dave's brain and we learn alot about him and his other projects.
In this solo episode, the new co-host Ian explores Warsaw, Waterford and the Sunny 16 self-portrait project.
In this episode we talk to Michael Bartosek about his finished Kodak 2238 project and his new project thats coming up!
Super cool stuff!
This is a special one, as i introduce the new co-host of the Viewfinder Vikings podcast. We also chat about projects and have a rant about naming images (well, i have a rant).
In this episode I have a chat with Ian Barnaby Nutt, or "Mr. Zine". We talk about projects, workflow and almost everything in between.
The only thing we dont talk about, is gear. So if you got GAS, you are hereby warned.
