COSMIC ECHOES: Shared Sky Indigenous Art Exhibition – a cultural look at the starry sky by Aboriginal Australian and South African artists – will open next week at the CTICC.
The Exhibition is a collaboration between the SKAO, SARAO and CSIRO, an Australian govt agency and seeks to allow Australian and South African Indigenous artists to explore creativity at the intersection of modern science and ancient wisdom. It is a celebration of humanity’s ancient cultural wisdom.

With the noble objective of creating a platform for the youth to discuss and find solutions to South Africa's grim and high unemployment rate, poverty, inequality and crime, "A Seat at the Table (SATT) recently launched its Youth Dialogue to address the socio-economic challenges. The Working on Fire - Kishugu Joint Venture is deploying a team of more than 200 firefighters and management to the Canadian province of Alberta to assist with firefighting and fire suppression efforts. This will be the sixth deployment by a Working on Fire team to Canada. Between 2015 and 2023, Working on Fire has been on five deployments to Canada, based on this MOU. These five deployments include the historic deployment of 860 firefighters and management in 2023, which was one of the largest deployments of international firefighters to Canada.
