Realtors have a hard marketing niche, How do do they advertise now? I've seen the gambit from ads on park benches and shopping carts to busses.
Do these ads work? Yes, but they are not cheap and do little to provide clients that have a rapport with their Agent, let alone address the myriads of questions and concerns that EVERYONE has when making a major purchase like a new home.
The King of the realtor marketing efforts is the "requested referral" where at the end of the buying process the Agent asks for an introduction to another person that is thinking of buying real estate soon.
The trouble is these practices are expensive/hard to scale and provide "customers" that have not been taught about how best to work with an Agent.
So what the ideal advertising platform will provide...
Customers who have a rapport and familiarity with their agent,
Know how to prepare for the buying/selling process
Generate website traffic and SEO (Search Engine Optimization), backlinks
AND it would generate its own revenue stream, paying for the ad to exist in the first place. Here is where I suggest Podcasting... (saw it coming a mile away right?) a Podcast can do all of that, it is affordable to set up and run while leveraging your existing skill sets.
