God has ordained Elders to be the spiritual leaders of the church. Therefore, we are called to follow their lead, as they hold us accountable to the Gospel. Interestingly, the Lord has called us to hold them accountable too. Rejection of salvation through Christ alone defines a legalist and an apostate. Legalism is the belief that salvation is achieved through an individual's good works. Apostasy is the flat out rejection of the Word of God. The Crusades are always a hot button topic for those discussing the history of religion and Christianity. Some Christians believe the Crusades started out in nobility (protection for Christians against invading Islamic forces), while others believe it ended without nobility. Some even believe it is a black eye on the face of Christianity. A military campaign is a large scale, long duration participation in a series of battles that make up a war. As Christians, we have enlisted as soldier's in the Lord's army. Therefore, in our daily lives, we are in the middle of a war waged against the spiritual realm.
