Matthew 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

~Baptism literally means to immerse, to bury in water.

~Jesus went into the water.

~He was immersed in the water.

~He came up out of the water.

Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

~Baptism is a picture of a burial and a resurrection.

~You are either completely buried or you are not buried.

~We are burying our selfish will.

~We are publicly burying our old sinful way of living with a watery exclamation mark!

~We are rising with a new sense of purpose, to live a new life.

~To live in the footsteps and the service of Jesus Christ.

We Believe That Jesus Christ established His church during His ministry on earth and that it is always a local, visible assembly of scripturally baptized believers in covenant relationship to carry out the Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We Believe Each church is an independent, self-governing body, and no other ecclesiastical body may exercise authority over it.

We believe that Jesus Christ gave the Great Commission to the New Testament churches only, and that He promised the perpetuity of His churches.

To be declared good by the Word of God is a rare and desirable accolade.

To be worthy of being declared good by the standards of God’s Word is the pursuit of a lifetime.

Barnabas was an example of a good man.

His life was filled with the influence of the Holy Spirit.

Every saved man has the Holy Spirit within them but not every saved man is called good.

When we allow the Holy Spirit to have full influence of our thoughts, deeds, and desires we can become a man like Barnabas.

Jesus was held by:

Love for us Romans 5:8.

Fulfillment of God’s plans Luke 24:44-48.

Compassion for the undeserving Luke 23:39-43.
