John’s Gospel is written “so that you may believe.”  This week our students experienced a week of missions as they built wheel chair ramps in Athens Tx.  In the process God did a work in their hearts turning many to a new understanding of belief and faith.  Hear as they testify to the power and presence of God.

We often come to Jesus with a desire for what he can do for us, but Jesus wants to not only change our circumstance but our whole lives.  For us to have a testimony of Gods faithfulness we must first take him at his word.

Belief is a curious notion in our world, with more deception than truth.  Belief is vital to our faith as we see all throughout scripture.  So what does the Bible really mean by “believe.” By looking at 2 passages where belief does not lead to salvation, we can begin to get a more clear understanding of of the nature of belief and the Gospel we are called to believe.

Jesus is always calling people back to himself. God desires all to know Him and come back home. While God's word goes out to all, different people react to it in different ways. What is the quality of your heart to receive God's word? And are you praying for your community and your neighborhood to be good soil for the Gospel?

We must understand that the core of the Christian faith and confession is the resurrection. Because Jesus has ascended our salvation is assured!... and we have a job to do.

In a world bent on decommissioning and throwing out broken things, we lean into a God whose greatest joy is to restore and repurpose his beloved creation.  Peter’s life will never be the same after this encounter with the resurrected Jesus.

Doubt is not bad, it is good for a season, but Doubt does not have to be our defining attribute.  When we let our doubt overtake our faith it blocks the fullness of life and joy that he has called us to.  So what does it look like to show up in the midst of your doubt?

What if all of the circumstances in your life were just how you wanted them… would you have life to the fullest? For many of us, we believe that our greatest problems are circumstantial.  If only this or that would change, my world would be better.  When Jesus meets us on the journey of faith he does not seek fix our circumstance, but to restore our hearts.  How does God want to heal you today as he meets you on the way?
