Maybe the greatest path to spiritual detox is a proper pursuit.  The call is clear but often the practice is full of distracted half focused and isolated attempts to hear the voice of God, and we are left wanting more…  Today we look at the text and how God calls us to a wholistic approach to seeking.

We are constantly measuring our actions and identity against something.  In light of my weight, I’m going to diet, in light of my financial status I’m going to make a budget.  But Paul calls the church to view their lives in light of Gods mercy.  How then does this new lens shift the focus of our spiritual lives?

From this moment Jesus’ ministry is launched.  It is the filling of the spirit and the and the divine identity that sustains and furnishes is vibrant ministry even in the desert.  As we examine the text, we see that you and I are prone to pursuing an alternate identity and a self propelled life.  Lean in and receive the spirit of adoption.

Who do you say God is? is the most profound question we will answer in this life. The question has plagued scientists, Philosophers, theologians alike.
