Where do you find strength? Often we seek in comfort in food, drink, ideas, or causes that are bigger than ourselves, but if we rely on those things long term they turn into our weaknesses. In contrast God has given us that which not only comforts but gives us strength for living.

Ground Zero: The Prime Directive

Acts 1.1-26 

We live in a time where the American church looks a lot like the Judaism of Jesus’ day, divided between Pharisees and Sadducees, the conservative and the liberal, and sprinkled with a few radicals (the Zealots and the Lestai). I think God is shaking the American church right now to prepare us for revival, and we need to embrace it because the church needs revival before there can be used to bring a great awakening in the world.

Crowns Down: Discipline is Key

Discipline is a key part of our repentance process.  In our text this week, we unfold the story of David and his son Absalom and compare the response each of them have to their sin.  God’s discipline process is so important for David but the same discipline is not extended to Absalom resulting in his demise.  Still, we see the father heart of God played out as David extends mercy to his son.
