Dietary laws that seem arbitrary, societal laws that seem backward, sacrificial laws that seem gruesome, and punishments that seem unmerciful. How are we supposed to contend with the parts of the Mosaic Law that seem so strange?

Anna Kitko answers difficult questions concerning violence, genocide, and other hard topics found in scripture.

What about slavery in the Bible? What about the mistreatment of women?

How are we supposed to read a book that teaches love as the center of everything, as the very definition of God (God is love, I John 4:8) but, at times, seems to condone violence… even genocide?

The resurrection gave us a job to do. We will spend the next few weeks looking at the beginning of the church as we explore what God has for us.
