After years and years of their unfaithfulness, and his pleading for them to repent, the Lord shows how far he will go to bring his people back, and how eager he is to restore them in full.

Jesus knew what it was to be attacked, and he knew how much more it hurt when it was personal. The people he loved most failed fantastically to love him well in return. Each time he forgave (which is remarkable), but he didn’t stop there.

We all generally fall into one of two temperaments: fixers and feelers. Our natural bent really shows up when we’re with people who are hurting and works FOR or AGAINST us. But Jesus was able to respond to people with balance. He was equally interested in the ministry of truth and the ministry of tears.

Jesus can make a way when there seems to be no way. God has a track record of meeting needs in ways that no one could ever have asked or imagined. Because of that, our faith should be strong whenever we face our next hurdle. However, because God’s people have always struggled with spiritual amnesia, forgetting all that He has done, we tend to walk in fear rather than faith.

When Jesus encountered a woman he was supposed to politely ignore, he chose to go way beyond tolerance, he demonstrated love.

If the doctrine of the incarnation is true, human beings have the ultimate reason to celebrate. In a world full of selfishness, the Bible says that God became like us. Christianity claims that God does not wait for people to clean themselves up before they approach him. Instead, he came in the form of Jesus to prove his great and mysterious love for us.

In the face of a world that is wild, where else would we go but to the One who is our hope and rescue?

Tongues and prophecy are both powerful and practical spiritual gifts. They are, however, commonly misunderstood. This message will define those gifts, show their value, and help us understand how we can obey the commandment to pursue them.

The gifts of the Spirit aren’t magic tricks for super holy people, they are God expressing his love through us.
