Several former residents and some former staff claim the staff used to utilize corporal punishment whenever a kid was disrespectful or non-compliant. Ted Suhl has vehemently denied this in the past. They claim that they only restrain residents when they're being a threat to themselves or others.

Meanwhile, there are over 40 years of allegations that staff would regularly attack male and female residents when they weren't being a threat to themselves or others. (This includes Ted Suhl) Even some former staff members have said the same thing during this investigation.
