Have you ever experienced getting dumped?
You might say "normal naman yata yan."
But what if you get dismissed during one of the worst times.
Our JasSuccess guest was dropped by her client during the pandemic.
Ouch!
She’ll share with us her journey and how she’s able to overcome this painful experience.
Be moved and inspired by this wonder mom.
One thing that’s great about freelancing?
It’s a great equalizer.
Just like our JasSuccess guest.
She’s a part-time tindera in bakery for almost 4 years.
After she graduated from high school, her aunt asked her to take care of her son in Manila.
Yes.
Tindera > Yaya
But now?
She’s one of our successful freelancers.
And she’s ready to share with us her story — her challenges and her wins.
No skills.
No experience.
No portfolio.
These are just some of the challenges of newbie freelancers.
If you’re starting from scratch, do you really need to be skilled and experienced to compete in the online world?
Sometimes, in the busyness of our lives (both personal and career-wise), we forget to take care of ourselves.
And that includes keeping our minds sharp — especially as we age. (cough)
Tell you this.
By making simple lifestyle changes, you can keep your mind strong and stay sharp.
For one, you must prioritize lifelong learning.
And no, I’m not saying you need to take a Ph.D. or any master’s degree.
The ultimate goal is to challenge your brain.
It doesn’t matter the challenge is a Master’s thesis, pursuance of a new hobby, or learning a new skill.
(By the way, if you’re looking for a new skill, [you might want to check this out](https://vabootcamp.ph/shop/).)
If your brain is learning something, it’s staying sharp.
Got it?
Alright!
This is just one of the simple things you can do.
Discover more hacks from your fellow freelancers so you can keep your mind focused and sharp.
See you on October 12, Monday at 6 PM!
Monday Motivation: Dear Me
Continue to do something every day that you can look back and
your future self will thank you for.
So last time, we talked about freelancing fears.
And when I say that almost all of us have gone through them, I mean it.
In fact, our JasSuccess guest tomorrow has also faced his own fears.
"Rejections - a lot of them. It’s frustrating and depressing at the same time. Nag-self Hustle ako after I finished the Accelerated Course. Every day I sent out cover letters, got interviewed a few times, and hoping to get onboard.
Challenging din yung makahanap ng posts which matches my skills."
But the perks are much bigger than this.
No need to worry about being late because of the traffic.
No need to skip breakfast or any meals.
More time for rest.
And he’ll tell us more of his journey.
"I don’t have experience."
"Baka ma-reject ako."
"What if clients don’t like my work."
These are just some of the common fears of freelancers.
And nearly each one of us experiences these.
But the good thing is.
We CAN overcome them.
How?
That’s what we’ll talk about this in our FLIP Chat & Chill.

Are you Scared?
SCARED means being in a state of fear, nervousness, or panic.
What scares you as a freelancer?
It may be not meeting your client’s expectations, not completing your task on time or you’ll suddenly lose your job!
Nothing in this world is permanent, but it’s normal for a human being to get scared.
What’s important is you’re seeking an understanding of everything around you and attempting to learn from it.
