How can we prepare to share the good news about Christ and how can we make sure we have the right motivations?

Jesus had given the disciples a clear mission: they were to be witnesses for Him to the world. So, while they waited, they prepared for their mission in two ways. First, Luke says they continued in united prayer and supplication. There was no question in any of their minds about what the mission was that Jesus had given them, and they had each accepted that mission. This inspired them to unite in prayer. Luke does not share what they were praying about, but it is most certain they were praying for wisdom, strength, and courage to fulfil the mission together. What an example for us.

The statement 'Standing on business' has been popularized and means 'to take care of your business/obligations. To be about your grind'. We are part of God's business which is His mission and in this episode we look at excuses we may use to not be about God's business `by exploring the life of Jonah.

It's easy to read about Jonah and his reluctance to be on God's mission and judge him for this - but can you identify characteristics of Jonah in your own life? If so, take these to God in prayer so that they do not hinder you from being an effective ambassador.

From the start, Abraham wanted to be used by God for mission. Throughout Genesis 18, we learn about 3 great spiritual qualities Abraham possessed: hospitality, love, and prayer—qualities that can greatly aid in mission. Do you personally feel that you have these qualities?

God can sometimes move us out of our comfort zone and make us His witnesses. Sometimes this change can be used to accomplish His purposes. Don't be afraid to follow God's instruction - scratch that - mission for you. It can be daunting and nerve racking, but God always has a master plan! TRUST IN HIM.

For example, God asked Abram (aka Abraham) to leave his country and his people and go to another land. It was all part of God’s plan to use Abraham as a vehicle to fulfil His divine purposes in the earth. And Abraham went, according to the Word of the Lord.

Satan watches eagerly to find Christians off their guard. Let's remember that eternal vigilance is the price of eternal life. Many of us have a slumbering faith. Unless we are invigorated, revived, quickened into action, souls will be lost. How can we make sure we are part of God's chosen people?
