Today we're talking about something that can be deeply personal, sometimes uncomfortable, and often difficult to talk about, and that is family issues. Family is often described as the place where we should feel safest. But for many people, family relationships can also be a source of stress, judgment, misunderstanding, or emotional pain.
Today we're here to talk about emotional health. Our emotional health affects how we respond to stress, how we communicate with other people, how we make decisions, how we handle disappointment, and even how we see ourselves. Today we're going to use something called the wellness wheel to help us think about emotional health as part of a larger picture.
Today we're talking about a topic that is both common and often misunderstood, which is depression. You may know someone who has experienced depression, you may have experienced it yourself, or perhaps you've wondered whether what you're experiencing is depression or a or simply a difficult period in your life. Let's dig deeper!
Today we're going to provide psychoeducation on anxiety. Anxiety is something that many people experience at different points in their lives, yet it is often misunderstood or minimized. While some anxiety is a normal response to stress or uncertainty, persistent or overwhelming anxiety can interfere with a person's daily life, relationships, work, school, and overall well-being. Having open conversations about anxiety can help reduce stigma, increase awareness, and encourage individuals to recognize when they may need additional support.
