This week, I thought I’d try to make a more musical edition of the show and take a look at - or a listen to - one or two of the many favourite TV theme tunes that we’ve discovered during all of those years of watching TV.
I’ve been thinking about doing a more music-based show for quite some time, but it always comes down to me not wanting to be tempted to try out my DEEJAY voice and end up sounding just as ridiculous as you might expect me to.
But with such a rich history of brilliant tunes being written and performed throughout television history, it does seem a rather overdue topic for VISION ON SOUND to tackle in its usual offbeat and perhaps unusual manner.
And of course, who is there better from the VISION ON SOUND pool of talent to pick out to take a musical journey through some terrific tunes than that forensic follower of feem toons, and magnifier of all things musical, PAUL CHANDLER, THE SHY YETI, who I’m welcoming back today.
PLEASE NOTE - For Copyright reasons, despite being originally covered by the radio licence for initial transmission, musical content sometimes has to be removed for the podcast edition. All the spoken word content remains (mostly) as it was in the broadcast version. Hopefully this won't spoil your enjoyment of the show.
(2025 re-edit removes "Theme from Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)" and "The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe")
