Peter loved Jesus. Jesus had brought Peter into his circle because he new that Peter  was someone who would have great impact in Jesus movement, but Peter didn’t  realize what it would cost him to be connected to Jesus and in the moment when  the pressure came, he denied Jesus. Counting the cost to follow Jesus is not  something we think about if we see Jesus as an add on to our lives, but when he is  central to all of who we are, it will cost us.

When we think about faith we don’t often attach it to faith. But, when you look at this section of James you begin to realize that faith is infused from wisdom that comes from God. We can talk a good talk, but when the real test of faith is in our actions that reveal our faith. To have our faith mature we need to be living it out as we express it through the patterns of everyday. James draws in the demonic and how they even believe. One writer said, “A workless faith is a worthless faith.”
